Welcome Bay is the main hub of Fitzroy Island. It holds the arrival jetty, resort facilities, and direct beach access.
When your 45-minute ferry from Cairns arrives, you step directly into Welcome Bay. This area acts as the base for most day trippers and overnight guests.
You can rent gear, book activities, or head straight into the sheltered waters for a swim. The National Park trails and the path to Nudey Beach also start from this central point.

The sheltered waters directly in front of the resort offer immediate access to coral formations and reef fish. It is an ideal entry point for beginners. Families who do not want to carry gear far will find this spot convenient.

Fitzroy Island Sports Hub (FISH)

This is the island's main tour desk and rental center. You can rent kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and snorkeling equipment here. Pick up your required stinger suit from November to May before heading into the water.
